Nuno transformed our land with his expert keyline terracing knowledge. After three years, the results are amazing and the improvements in water retention are exactly as planned. He was professional, communicated well, and had excellent local knowledge. Highly recommend!
Nuno was fundamental for the overall project of Fazenda Girassol, being considered an essential starting point to begin activities. We started with the roads, which facilitated the construction of a low-maintenance internal network, which was extraordinary compared to the past. Next, we progressed with the dams to capture water, benefiting local life and water management for our productions. This project is highly recommended for those who wish to start with a solid foundation and well-structured plans for the future.
Nuno helped me create terraces on my sloped land above Santa Catarina Fonte de Bispo a few years ago. The terraces were designed with soft, curvy lines, making them very pleasing to the eye. Today, I have many fruit trees that are thriving. I even believe there is more water in the borehole because of the terraces. I am very happy with the work he did for me.

Tantos anos depois, lembro-me claramente do momento em que soube que um Curso de Design em Permacultura (PDC) estava a decorrer no interior das serras do Algarve, em Ameixial. Fiquei tão entusiasmado que fui visitá-lo. Lá estava o Nuno, e começámos imediatamente a partilhar a nossa visão e a desenvolver ideias que mais tarde se materializariam na implementação de vários projectos. Oferecemos PDCs gratuitos abertos a toda a população, transformámos espaços públicos e construímos um apiário educativo onde formámos muitos apicultores.
Numa altura em que poucos conheciam sequer o termo permacultura, tivemos a ousadia de introduzir práticas regenerativas no serviço público. Nada disto teria sido possível sem o teu entusiasmo e profissionalismo. Não sei se alguma vez te agradeci, mas quero fazê-lo agora.
When I felt the need to seek alternatives, I began a search that led me to discover a new world in permaculture. The initial failures, supported by the coherence of its ethical principles, always made me believe that this will be our best future.
So many years later, I clearly remember the moment when I learned that a PDC (Permaculture Design Course) was taking place in the interior of the Algarve mountains (in Ameixial). I was so excited that I went to visit it. There was Nuno, and we immediately started sharing our vision and developing ideas that would later materialize in the implementation of several projects. We provided free PDCs open to the entire population, transformed public spaces, and built an educational apiary where we trained many beekeepers.
At a time when few even knew the term permaculture, we had the audacity to introduce regenerative practices into public service. None of this would have been possible without your enthusiasm and professionalism. I don’t know if I ever thanked you, but I want to do so now.
A vossa forma de trabalhar, marcada pelo profissionalismo e eficiência, foi exemplar. Além disso, os resultados detalhados que nos apresentaram contribuíram significativamente para o desenvolvimento sustentável do nosso projecto.
